Our Journey with Credit Suisse

Last week our team, along with our regional partners, participated in the groundbreaking for the expansion of Credit Suisse at RTP. Jim Captain, Credit Suisse’s Research Triangle Park site lead, along with Governor Roy Cooper, broke ground at RTP to expand operations with a second building that will have the capacity to hold 4,000 employees. Currently, the company has about 2,700 employees in the Triangle. As one of the of the largest employers in the region, Credit Suisse has experienced success and growth in the Triangle, largely due to the area’s talented, highly skilled workforce, a dynamic regional economy, access to top universities and higher education partnerships, and continued growth in the Triangle which is fueling diversity in the workforce.

Wake County Economic Development and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce played a critical role in assisting Credit Suisse. As with every economic development project, this would not have been possible without the collaboration and partnership with NC State, the Capital Area Workforce Development Board, the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, RTP, Wake County, NC Commerce, Wake Tech, and many others.

Michael Haley, executive director of Wake County Economic Development, is proud of this announcement and what it means for the community. He said, “This is a big day for a number of reasons. This was one of the largest economic development announcements, in terms of jobs, in Wake County history. The expansion of Credit Suisse in the Triangle represents the growth trajectory of our region. We are excited to continue to help Credit Suisse grow.”
