The event also provided valuable insights into how peer regions are approaching growth, talent development and economic opportunity.

Data Confirms Raleigh’s Competitive Position

The event began with the release of the 2026 Metro Comparisons Report, presented by Ted Abernathy of Economic Leadership. The report evaluated the nation’s 101 largest metropolitan areas across hundreds of economic indicators, offering a comprehensive view of the factors that influence business investment, talent attraction, and long-term economic success.

The analysis reinforced many of the Raleigh region’s known strengths. A strong talent pipeline, high educational attainment, a thriving innovation ecosystem and a strong quality of life continue to differentiate the market nationally. Lessons from Three High-Performing Regions

One of the event’s most engaging discussions brought together leaders from three nationally recognized metropolitan regions: Adrienne Cole, President & CEO of the Greater Raleigh Chamber; Stephanie Coleman, President & CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce; and James E. Rooney, President & CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. Together, they explored the strategies helping Raleigh, Nashville, and Boston compete for talent and innovation while navigating the challenges that accompany rapid economic growth.
