In a recent study by CNBC, North Carolina claimed the #1 spot for top states for business for a second consecutive year! Analysts scored all 50 states on 86 metrics in 10 categories of competitiveness. Metrics were developed with input from a diverse range of business leaders and policy experts, which included economy, infrastructure, workforce, and cost of living. North Carolina scored an overall percentage of 68% - the highest of all 50 states. It was also noted that North Carolina ranked first in all of the important workforce categories within the study. North Carolina also placed highly in the economy category with a total weighted score of 310 out of 340.
