Raleigh Named 3rd Best State Capital to Live in for 2025

Raleigh has earned a top spot in WalletHub's 2025 ranking of the best state capitals to live in, securing 3rd place overall. Analysts compared 50 large cities across four key dimensions of affordability, economic well-being, quality of education & healthcare, and quality of life. Raleigh was specifically recognized for its strong economy, cost of living and educated workforce. It was noted that the city has the seventh-highest share of residents ages 25+ with a bachelor’s degree or higher, at 52.7%.
