Raleigh has claimed the #5 spot on the Wall Street Journal’s annual rankings of nearly 400 metro areas.
The ranking is determined by analyzing the unemployment rate, labor-force participation rate, changes to employment levels, the size of the labor force and wages in 2022.
Southern cities like Raleigh showed particular strength due to the combination of cost of living and ability to attract young, educated people.
