Consumer Electronics Association named North Carolina to the list of Top 10 Most Innovative States in the U.S., earning the title of “Innovation Champion” due to its status as a right-to-work state with a favorable tax system and more successful business start-ups per capita than most states.  

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) used the following metrics to evaluate the 50 states and the District of Columbia:

• Welcomes new business models
• Tax friendliness
• Entrepreneurial Activity
• Tech Workforce
• Investment Attractiveness
• Granting of STEM Degrees
• Innovation Momentum
• Innovation-Friendly Sustainable Policies
