Executive Director, Wake County Economic Development

Wake County Economic Development is a program of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and is the primary economic development program in Wake County providing business recruitment, existing industry retention and expansion, talent attraction, retention and development, public relations and marketing, community and equitable economic development, and research services for Wake County municipalities, Chambers of Commerce, and Wake County government.

Reporting to the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, the Executive Director of Wake County Economic Development serves in a dual role as the Senior Vice President of Economic Development for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

Specific functions that the Executive Director and Senior Vice President of Economic Development will perform include:

PROFILE:
The Chamber is looking for a dynamic professional with proven experience in the field of economic development; a leader with an entrepreneurial spirit capable of working effectively with multiple partner organizations and key stakeholder groups to ensure economic prosperity for Wake County; a responsible manager sensitive to effective and efficient use of the resources of the organization and the management and motivation of its staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate should have a degree in a related field and ten (10) years of related experience. A master’s degree in public administration, business administration or a related field is preferred.
