Erin Smith

Project & Marketing Coordinator

As Project & Marketing Coordinator for Wake County Economic Development, Erin Smith supports strategic marketing initiatives, economic development research, and the organization’s business recruitment and expansion efforts.

Erin is a May 2026 graduate of Appalachian State University, where she earned a B.S. in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing. During her time at App State, she spent two years as a Communication Specialist for Frontline to Farm, a nonprofit that trains beginning farmer veterans in sustainable agriculture. Her experience on the executive board of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a sales and marketing fraternity, and with Second Story Media, App State’s student-run advertising agency serving High Country nonprofits pro bono, further shaped her interest in mission-driven work.

Originally from South Charlotte, Erin spent the past four years in Boone and always had her sights set on eventually landing in Raleigh. She loves that the city offers no shortage of things to do while sitting at the perfect distance between the mountains and the coast.

When she’s not at work, you can find Erin on the ski slopes, trying out a new recipe in the kitchen, or cheering on her favorite college football team.
