Will Rice

Project Manager

Will Rice, originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, is a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he earned dual degrees in Agricultural & Resource Economics and Political Science. After college, he returned to his family’s dairy farm in Sweetwater, an experience that instilled in him a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for community-driven work. Will later joined the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development, where he supported three economically distressed counties in the Chattanooga region, gaining valuable experience in regional development and public service.

With a lifelong exposure to economic development—thanks to his mother’s career in the field—Will brings both personal passion and professional insight to his new role in Wake County. He’s excited to contribute to one of the most dynamic and innovative regions in the country, helping to highlight the area’s strengths and drive future growth. Outside of work, Will enjoys attending sporting events, discovering new music, and browsing second-hand bookstores.
