This year has been a successful year for startups and entrepreneurs in North Carolina and the Triangle Region. In Q1 and Q2 alone, 85 entrepreneurial companies raised nearly $427 million in North Carolina. As the year comes to a close and funding rounds close, it's becoming even more evident just how successful startups and early stage companies are doing here. Within 24 hours, on December 1 and 2, four companies announced raising big dollars.
WedPics started the momentum announcing scoring $8.5 million from its most recent funder, which brings its total funding to more than $12 million according to CEO Justin Miller. The financial backers even include local funders such as David Gardner. FilterEasy, a subscription-based service that delivers air filters to your home or business, told Triangle Business Journal that they had received a $3 million Series A Funder. EmployUs, one of the area's newest startups hopes to change the way companies hire with a referral app, raised a $750,000 seed round investment led by several local funders including Cofounders Capital and Sovereign's Capital, in addition to other angel investors. Read ExitEvent's full report.
Netsertive, a digital marketing intelligence technology company, took the cake after completing a round of $24 million in Series C funding. The funding was led by River Cities Capital Funds who also has a local Raleigh presence. Netsertive's numbers were so impressive TechCrunch took note.
