Full Press Release from North Carolina State University
NC State’s Office of Technology Transfer and HQ Raleigh are excited to announce a collaborative arrangement to support the acceleration of NC State startup companies in 2014.
Through this collaboration the Office of Technology Transfer will maintain an office suite at HQ Raleigh’s new location in the Downtown Warehouse District. This office suite will accommodate entrepreneurs from ten NC State startup companies, which will enable HQ Raleigh and NC State to strengthen ties between the entrepreneurial community and University research and innovations.
“This collaborative relationship with the Office of Technology Transfer will work to solidify the connection between NC State and the broader entrepreneurial community, thereby providing greater opportunities for entrepreneurs in the region,” says HQ Executive Director Jason Widen.
Beyond a physical presence for the Office of Technology Transfer at HQ Raleigh, both organizations will provide additional resources and connections for area startups, innovators, and University faculty. The HQ community will gain access to Office of Technology Transfer expertise in startup acceleration, and NC State startups will gain access to a growing and diverse network of 55+ active startup companies, industry partners, and potential investors at HQ Raleigh. Members-only events, office hours, and other resources within the shared workspace will provide additional growth opportunities for NC State startups.
“We are fortunate to be located in the Research Triangle area with such a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem to support our startups once they are ready to continue their growth off-campus. Raleigh’s innovation ecosystem has seen impressive growth, and we are excited to provide our startup companies with access to the dynamic environment at HQ Raleigh,” says Wade Fulghum, Assistant Director for Venture Development at the Office of Technology Transfer.
