The Umstead Hotel and Spa given Five Diamond rating by AAA

The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary received the 2012 AAA Five Diamond Award, a highly respected symbol of excellence in the hospitality industry and the highest honor granted by AAA. Since opening in 2007, The Umstead has been distinguished as a Five Diamond establishment all five years. More than 31,000 hotels were examined by AAA for their Diamond Awards, and The Umstead was one of only 124 to receive the distinction. This prestigious award is given to elite establishments, consistently exceeding guest expectations and maintaining the highest standards of excellence. Herons Restaurant at The Umstead is one of only two restaurants in North Carolina to receive the Five Diamond distinction. In terms of eating establishments, this award marks extraordinary technique and the use of only the finest ingredients in preparation of meals.
