Zebulon, population of 4,591 is known as the Town of Friendly People. The Town was incorporated in 1907 and was named after Zebulon B Vance, the governor of North Carolina during the Civil War. New and Expanding Companies
GlaxoSmithKline, a pharmaceutical, biologics, vaccines, and consumer healthcare company, is planning to hire 6 to 75 people to meet production needs for its Zebulon facility. GlaxoSmithKline's Zebulon facility is one of two manufacturing sites in North America for the company, which also packages and produces 20 different brands and products, including drugs such as Potiga, Valtrex, and Lamictal. Branch Banking & Trust, a financial services company, is building a data center in Zebulon at the intersection of North Arendell Avenue and Green Pace Road. BB&T's data center will consist mostly of computers that will serve as a backup to BB&T’s control center in Wilson in case of a natural disaster. BB&T is investing 89 million dollars and constructing a 150,000-square-foot building that is expected to be completed on the nearly 50-acre property by the end of 2015.
