Going Solar

I exhibited at the 40th Annual American Solar Energy Society National Solar Conference held right here in downtown Raleigh at the Raleigh Convention Center—one of the most energy efficient centers in the nation. The center’s LEED Silver Certification makes it one of only six convention centers in the country to receive LEED certification.

The convention center was packed with more than 150 exhibitors covering just about every aspect of the Clean Tech cluster. The conference also included educational sessions and featured 16 industry leading speakers.

Raleigh Economic Development took this opportunity to showcase its new Clean Tech marketing materials. Those materials included three displays focused on the city’s sustainability initiatives, plug-in electric vehicles, and solar energy.

The conference was a great success as we generated a buzz about the Clean Tech industry in Raleigh. We educated the public on our efforts, and we had four companies express an interest in either expanding or relocating their businesses to Raleigh.
