WCED Speaks to Sanderson High School about Key Economic Indicators

On May 14th, WCED team members visited the CTE Business Economics class at Sanderson High School in Raleigh. Bailey Siebel, Research & Marketing Coordinator, and Jordan Deshazor, Project Coordinator, spoke about county-wide economic indicators that have contributed to the area’s success.

The students are currently working on an economic improvement project proposal that requires insight into demographic, education, real estate, and labor statistics. Bailey and Jordan presented the students with an overview of the work that Wake County Economic Development does to support economic growth in the region.

The WCED team also provided the students with tools for further research by helping them navigate the U.S. Census website and the Targeted Growth Areas map for Wake County. Students were most eager to learn about ways to reduce the poverty rate and promote economic mobility across the county.
