Allscripts Healthcare, LLC announced plans today to create 350 additional jobs in Raleigh by the end of 2017 and invest $2.8 million at its facility. The jobs will be primarily in research and development. Mayor Nancy McFarlane noted that, “Allscripts announcement today is another validation that Raleigh is a leading technology city.”
Allscripts offers healthcare clinical, financial, connectivity and information solutions to hospitals and physician practices. The company’s tools help automate and connect common healthcare data flow tasks, such as entering prescription information, managing orders and lab tests, and other medical workflows and records. The company employs more than 1,000 people in Raleigh.
Raleigh Economic Development has been working with Allscripts for several months as the company made its decision to continue to grow in Raleigh. “Healthcare technology is a target sector the City of Raleigh has identified for continued growth,” said James Sauls, Director Raleigh Economic Development.
Allscripts is in the process of executing on a series of new initiatives to improve product delivery and client experience. ItsCenter of Excellence in Raleigh is a successful and key R&D facility for the company. The company is seeking to expand its workforce in Raleigh because of the ample access to a top talent pool including highly desirable graduates from local universities.
