In the May 2018 issue of Global Traveler magazine, journalist Ron Bernthal captures his recent visit to Raleigh detailing the business-friendly environment and quality of life amenities that enhance the community’s lifestyle. His article offers a perfect reflection on the current landscape of Raleigh and the Research Triangle as the region has quickly become one of the top competitive metros in the U.S.
In the article, Bernthal notes, “The city and its suburban communities are fast-growing leaders in information technology, life sciences, cleantech and advanced manufacturing.” He also writes about the major corporate announcements and expansions in 2017, specifically Infosys, Credit Suisse, INC Research, Citrix, and MetLife. The business community remains a top choice for many new and expanding companies, as reflected in the announcements above. This also provides further support for the recent Forbes ranking that put Raleigh as the “No. 2 Best Place for Business and Careers in 2017.”
The article pays testament to the importance of all factors when talking about economic development. Tourism, transit, inclusion, diversity, entrepreneurship, mobility, education, culture, etc., all play a vital role in supporting a region that is leading the way for mid-sized cities. Bernthal’s article shows the depth of our community and how a region can be successful through partnerships and collaboration. Growth and prosperity in Raleigh continue to be a team effort, and it remains our goal to help our region prosper in the face of growth and recognition.
The Global Traveler article is a great reflection of Raleigh and our region. This community has worked hard to be at the top of the list in more ways than one. We will continue to wave the Raleigh and Wake County flag and support this incredible community.
