The job market is looking up according to Manpower’s quarterly employment outlook survey. About 19 percent of employers in the Raleigh-Cary area plan to hire during the third quarter while just 5 percent plans to cut their staff. The result is a net employment outlook of 14 percent, up 1 percentage point during the same period last year.
Job prospects are strongest in construction, durable goods manufacturing, nondurable goods manufacturing, transportation and utilities information, financial activities, education and health services, leisure and hospitality, and other services and government. While employment in wholesale and retail trade and professional and business services is expected to remain unchanged.
Manpower polled 18,000 U.S. employers for the survey, and limited the survey to the top 100 labor markets.
