North Carolina Named Top State to Start a Business

In a ranking report presented by Ascent, North Carolina toppled the competition by being named the #1 best state in the U.S. to start a business. Ten different metrics were used to determine the overall rankings, with each category weighted by importance to a small business. The report found that workforce, infrastructure and economy were top of the priority list for business owners across the nation.
