North Carolina wins 2015 Silver Shovel award for economic development

North Carolina is the recipient of Area Development magazine's 2015 Silver Shovel award for economic development effectiveness.

The annual awards recognize states' eco-devo efforts in securing company investment and job creation in 2014. North Carolina is a silver winner in the 8 million to 12 million population category, along with Michigan and Ohio.

Triangle projects among the list of 10 in North Carolina that factored into the award are Advance Auto Parts (NYSE: AAP) bringing 600 jobs to Wake County and HCL Technologies bring 1,237 jobs to Wake County.
