Consumer Electronics Association named North Carolina to the list of Top 10 Most Innovative States in the U.S., earning the title of “Innovation Champion” due to its status as a right-to-work state with a favorable tax system and more successful business start-ups per capita than most states.
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) used the following metrics to evaluate the 50 states and the District of Columbia:
- Right-to-work laws
- Welcomes new business models
- Tax friendliness
- Entrepreneurial Activity
- Tech Workforce
- Investment Attractiveness
- Granting of STEM Degrees
- Innovation Momentum
- Innovation-Friendly Sustainable Policies
